RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT CONTINUITY OF CARER CAN IMPROVE BIRTH OUTCOMES AND SATISFACTION OF BIRTH EXPERIENCE.

 

KNOWING YOUR CARER WELL AND THEM KNOWING YOU AND YOUR WISHES IS MORE LIKELY TO END IN A PHYSIOLOGICAL BIRTH, REQUIRING LESS PAIN RELIEF AND DECREASED INCIDENCE OF VAGINAL TEARS AND EPISIOTOMY.

AT Joyful Birth in Doncaster MOST OF YOUR CARE WILL BE PROVIDED BY ME. YOU WILL MEET A SECOND MIDWIFE FROM ABOUT 34 WEEKS SO YOU GET TO KNOW THEM TOO. WE WILL BOTH BE ON CALL 24 HOURS A DAY 7 DAYS A WEEK FROM 37 WEEKS FOR YOUR BIRTH. ALL EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED INCLUDING TENS AND BIRTH POOL.

I AM ALSO TRAINED IN HYPNOBIRTHING AND THIS WILL BE TAUGHT TO YOU AND TECHNIQUES USED AS STANDARD. PLEASE SEE HYPNOBIRTHING PAGE FOR CLASSES

POSTNATAL CARE IS DAILY TILL DAY 10 AND AVAILABLE AS REQUIRED TILL 6 WEEKS POSTNATAL.

Benefits Of Relaxation Techniques During Pregnancy

Breathing And Mindfulness Practices For Expectant Mums

Breathing and mindfulness practices are effective ways to stay calm and focused during pregnancy. Deep breathing and meditation can help manage stress levels and support mental clarity. These practices encourage staying present and controlling your response to physical or emotional discomforts. We recommend short, daily sessions to help expectant mums feel grounded and relaxed. Practising mindfulness throughout pregnancy can create a strong foundation for dealing with challenges during labour and early parenthood.

​OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE

Tens machine hire is available. Tens machines are a natural pain relief option. They block the pain signal helping you to cope better. They also encourage the release of endorphins the bodies natural pain relief mechanisms. 

Research has also shown they encourage the release of oxytocin which can shorten the length of labour.

These are available as standard for private clients or £30 for others £10 back when machine returned. 

​

​Also available is birth pool hire included liner, pump and everything else you need £90 from 37 weeks till birth.
